    Cordyline australis - Cabbage Tree Cabbage tree: An iconic New Zealand palm like tree. Long drooping slender leaves up to 1m long are clustered at the tips of the branches. Large heads of scented creamy white flowers in Nov produce nectar for bees, then fruit attracts birds from January-April. Commonly found throughout farmland, open places, wetlands and scrubland of the North and South Islands in anything from wet swampy ground to dry windy hill slopes. Hardy.

    One of the most popular. Low spreading growth habit with few thorns. Large yellow-orange fruit when ripe with smooth skin and lower acid level than other lemon varieties. Very high juice content.     Fruit is small to medium in size with dark green skin, turning yellow. Flesh tangy, juicy and almost seedless. Can be eaten green or yellow. Heavy scented pure white flowers and  aromatic foliage. Feed your lime tree in spring and summer to encourage maximum fruiting and flowering. The Persian lime is a cross between key lime and lemon.     • Description
    An evergreen tree with crisp serrated leaves are a red colour when young but mature to dark green. Pink or white (depending on variety) fragrant flowers are produced from spring to summer followed by a round hard shelled in summer to autumn. These edible nuts that are a rich source of thiamine, vitamin B6, manganese, iron, magnesium and phosphorus. Harvest period, lasting from around March until June.   • The Mandarin is a small evergreen citrus TREE with shiny, green, and rather small LEAVES.  Over summer FLOWERS appear which are heavily perfumed.  FRUIT start to ripen over winter which are small and orange and have a robust sweet taste. Fragrant white FLOWERS are followed by orange winter FRUIT that can be picked as soon as they colour. They are quite flat in shape with a thick, loose, very easily peeled skin. It has highly fragrant clusters of small attractive yellow-cream flowers in spring, followed by distinctive black seed capsules. Best in full sun.
